I Stand All Amazed

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,
Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.
I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,
That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.
(Chorus)
Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me
Enough to die for me!
Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me!
I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine
To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine,
That he should extend his great love unto such as I,
Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.
I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt!
Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget?
No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat,
Until at the glorified throne I kneel at his feet.
It is 2:30 AM. Sleep fails me, not because of worry of ill health, but because of the gratitude I feel for the experiences of the day just passed, and all that has led up to this day, as well as the knowledge of how very much God loves His children, each and every one of us.
We were blessed and honored last evening to be in the Logan Temple with some dear friends from our little Mandarin speaking branch, as well as a large group of young single adults from a YSA ward, and others, to do baptisms and confirmations for the dead, sacred and redeeming ordinances for those who have died in this world without having had the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, but who nonetheless are loved by Him and for whom He suffered and died on the cross, as are we all. "My cup runneth over" with love and for gratitude to my Savior and to all others who have touched my life for good in so many ways.
