With Mason on the Trail to Cherry Peak

When I discover a wild flower’s color
or touch a single blade of grass
or hear a child laugh,
then I am surer that everything,
from the mountain to the stream,
from the valley to the sky;
Everything, from the meadow to the sea,
from the sunlight to the rain.
Everything speaks His name
A few lines from the Song "Everything Speaks His Name" by LDS artist, Jesse Clark Funk
I spent the day with my grandson, Mason, tramping the trails en route to Cherry Peak. The hike was somewhat tedious, at least for me., but well worth the effort. I loved spending time with Mason. He just turned 16. He is six foot three, weighs 190 pounds and it's all muscle. He is always so fun to be with, never complains and is always ready to lend a hand to help anyone, and doesn't even mind going out on an all day hike with his grandpa. I see a great future for Mason and know that he is destined to touch the life of thousands for good. The upper reaches of Cherry Canyon were ablaze with beautiful wild flowers. We hiked about ten miles with an elevation gain of over 3000 vertical feet. This hike did not disappoint, Below are just a few of the pictures we took on this beautiful day in the mountains.
