When the days begin to grow longer and the temperatures begin to creep higher, my mind turns to some of the simple pleasures I came to appreciate as a boy growing up in the Bear Lake Valley. It brings me joy to know that I am not alone in my appreciation of these simple things. I know Ellis and Jeannine always look forward to the taste of fresh water cress in the springtime. As they were up this way from sunny St. George for Ione Derricott's funeral yesterday, I made a point to get a fresh cutting of this tasty spring delicacy and deliver it to them while we were over in Liberty for the funeral. Previously, I had delivered some to Reed and Lorraine and most of my neighbors as well as some of the families I home teach. Each received this small token with appreciation and later reported to me as to how much they had enjoyed it. The sounds of the streamlet and the birds were a small, but significant bonus for me as I gathered this last batch of spring greens, yummy on fresh homemade bread with a good thick slice of sharp cheddar cheese. Just saying!
One of my favorite spots up on "No Tell'em Creek"

Each season is amazing in it's own different way. You always do well to remember that.:)
Beautiful sounds. I love it when life is rejuvenated and starts anew.
I love to go to the great outdoors. It brings me peace and it makes me think of you. Thanks for sharing that part of this world with your kids. It means a lot. Love you Dad.
